“Girl, you betta’ work” – Someone cue the RuPaul! Hey ladies, it’s Sarah James popping by to tell you about the super fab party JJB is about to throw at Bead Fest. It’s hard to believe another Bead Fest Philly is upon us, how the time flies!

This year’s Bead Fest is an extra special one – Jesse James Beads is hosting 13 fun classes…and we are teaching right on the show floor. Now when you visit the JJB booth you will be able to shop and also get a peek at what goes down in our classes! Classes will be taught by our favorite designer, Miss Candie Cooper (and there is even one class that will be taught by yours truly, wink!) Want to find out what we have in store for you? Urban Cowgirl Illusion-Necklace

Saddle up, cowgirls!  We are making a multi-strand necklace using rustic pendants from the Lipstick Ranch, Jesse James Beads Petite strands, and metallic Beadalon beading wires.  Students will pick their own beads and set to designing. We will learn the magical illusion stringing technique on gorgeous metallic wire, a skill that students will love to use again and again. Also, learn to make a bail out of seed beads. This class grants students with a lovely rustic yet feminine wearable and new design skills to last a lifetime.

Designing on a Bead Board

Ah, the mysterious bead board, friend or foe? This class tackles designing on a board while creating and beautiful and timeless wearable. In this class we will start with students picking their desired color pallet from JJB Strands and Inspiration bead mixes. We will then work on bead boards to design multi-strand necklaces that radiate color. Come to class, design for a lifetime – kit includes your very own Beadalon board to take home

“Charmed I’m Sure” Charm Bracelet

Perfect a skill you will use again and again with the Charmed I’m Sure charm bracelet. Practice the art of making beautiful wrapped loops while working with incredibly striking beads to complete this bracelet project! Students will have an array of JJB Petite Strands in varying colors and styles to pick from so that everyone ends of up with a piece that suits their own unique self. Candie will also discuss charm bracelets in general and how to get the dangles to drape perfectly. The skills in this class can be applied to endless projects. Chic and Stylish Tortoise Chain Necklace

Create something truly unique using unusually eclectic materials! Chain is so hot right now, and tortoise resin really takes the cake. A strand of Jesse James Beads will serve as the focal element and student will learn a fun trick of how to make seed bead wire guardians to connect the focal to the chain, as well as crimping and using jump rings. We’re making bead balls for decoration or a pretty paperweight on your desk. Make one here, make 5 more at home! This is a fun and crafty class, come play! Each student will leave with one sparkly ball covered in Jesse James Beads.

Bohemian Beader

Get a flair for the exotic with in this fun class that uses unusual elements to create a stunning finished product. In the Bohemian Beader class, students get to choose their own kit that will include a beautiful Indian Sari trim and coordinated beads to match (psst – the colors for this class are out of this world!) Once a kit is chosen we will set to designing an exquisitely styled necklace. We will combine stringing, beaded chain, and wire wrapping in this piece to make the front focal elements. Finally the piece will sync together with a unique wire wrapped section around the ends of the ribbon. Students will make their own one of a kind piece to wear right then, and be able to take their skill with them to replicate in different colors and styles again for family and friends!

Boho Bauble Bracelet
with Guest Teacher, Sarah James

Get your bauble on in this fun and funky class with guest teacher Sarah James of Jesse James Beads. This style of bracelet gets attention everywhere it goes, so get ready to create something truly unique and learn a design skill you can use again and again. In class we will start by choosing our colors – Each student gets to pick a kit with a Design Element, 2 Strands and Inspirations pack (psst – we won’t use nearly all these beads so you’ll have tons of extra sparkle to play with when you get home!) Then, we’ll get started on design using a unique Magnetic clasp, 2-3 strands on colored Beadalon beading wire and crimps. Join the Boho party!

We love this necklace for the simple fact that you can put it on and go!  It’s got all the right elements: sparkle, play and drama!  Learn how to choose differing beading wires dependent on your project, appropriate crimping techniques, and how to make a wire-wrapped bead link. This necklace encompasses skills you can use again and again, plus students walk about with a striking wearable that is sure to turn heads!
