Make a Felt Pouch with Bead Embellishments!

Bohemian Bead Pouch from Jesse James BeadsAre you crafty and you know it?!  Yes, you say?  Then you’re going to love this quick little project.

It’s a bead-a-licious pouch for storing jewelry, lip gloss, loose beads, hopes and dreams!Cut a slit in the pouch for the bead button to go throughTo make it, I cut the embossed Kunin felt to my desired width (5.5″), folded it to a nice pocket size (leaving room for the top flap) and then sewed around the three sides like the above picture.  I then cut the top section into a point to create an envelope look, adding more stitching.

A single boho bead was used for the closure so you’ll need to cut the slit in the pouch so it’s about the same size as the bead (or a touch bigger).Stitch and knot the beads on the tasselString the Jesse James Beads boho bead onto a head pin and make a wrapped loop.  Also you can make a fun tassel by cutting 24″ of cord and folding it in half and half again.  Make an over hand knot at the top to create a loop.  Cut the ends so you have four strands, string loose beads onto each cord and knot at the end to keep them in place.

Stitch the tassel and button piece so it lines up with the slit.DIY Bead pouch with Jesse James BeadsHere’s another version I did with ribbon stitched in to create a wrap around closure.  I also curved the top of the pouch to create a softer more organic look.Felt and Bead Pouches from JesseJamesBeads.comThis would make a fun Girl Scout craft or gift project.  How about adding a handmade piece of jewelry to go inside it (with all your hopes and dreams)?
