Hi you guys! Candie Cooper here with some handmade jewelry that is hot n’ ready for Valentine’s Day! When Sarah and I spoke about the Valentine’s piece, we talked about what direction we thought it should go.
She spoke of blacks and reds (sultry) and I thought about sweet reds and drippy lines (admittedly chocolate covered strawberries popped into my head, my favorite Valentine treat).
Sarah sent up a delicious box of treats that had all kinds of fancy red and black beads, clasps, and sassy goodness. Decisions. Decisions.
I ended up coming up with two necklaces that use only two techniques. TWO!
Crimping.
Opening jump rings.
This is especially great if you just want a relaxing evening with instant gratification.
Pass the box of chocolates and let me show you how to whip these out.
The first is a long layering necklace that uses two of our newest Pantone strands in Fiesta, and this sultry black acrylic chain. I love the little acrylic rose beads in this strand. They are soooo sweet.
String one of the petite strands onto .018, 19 strand gold wire followed by a crimp bead and 14 seed beads. Fold the chain in half and thread the end of the wire through and back through the crimp bead. Cinch up and crimp. Optionally, you can cover your crimp bead with a crimp cover. Repeat for the opposite side.
The great thing about this technique is by using the seed beads, we blend our connection point with the black acrylic chain.
Drape the necklace around your neck and decide where you want the bead second strand/section to fall. Cut the chain, string the beads, crimp and wear!
Have you seen Jesse James Beads fabulous sparkly connectors and beaded chain? What about their hot red leather tassels? Feast your eyes on the Ferrari of tassels, party people.
This piece goes together in a snap because all you need are a few jump rings. Jesse James Beads unique findings do the rest.
Open your jump rings from side to side and get busy connecting. I’ve pointed out all the connection points.
Zoom. I love the visual punch these two pieces pack! And how sweet it is that Jesse James has compiled all this red, black and gold goodness into two kits, both live and ready on the online shops. Links to the kits just below!
Ferrari Tassel Necklace — Buy the Kit (Red Hot & Handmade #1)
Black Chain Get Lay….ering Necklace — Buy the Kit (Red Hot & Handmade #2)
Thanks for popping in! See you next time, or hopefully in person at the Jesse James Booth in Tucson. I’ll be demoing from 1:30-6pm everyday, so please stop in and say hello 🙂
